1st round

1st round of offers went out today and did not head my way. I haven't checked recently, but think I was ranked about 24-28 before today. Apparently Pat will be on vacation next week and has said she won't get to all the offers, so a 2nd round is likely for next weekend or so. I'm hoping I don't get left behind again.

This is so draining. I have felt today like I wanted to tear out my hair. In the last week, there have been a ton of people added to the register above me, so the same is likely to happen this week. Which could mean that I miss an offer by just a person or two, again.

I just feel like the landscape is changing under us. Basically, if you are just starting out in this process and don't speak a language, I really recommend starting one now. Preferably a critical language.

Are these offers for an October class? Just curious, but how can they schedule that class without a budget for FY'11?

Good luck - I hope you get called! Will be sending good thoughts your way!

What a nerve-draining experience! My best wishes to you. Suggestion: I notice on the Yahoo Forum that an increasing number of people are taking the OA again in an attempt to better their score and rank higher on the Register. Apparently, it doesn't hurt if you score lower on the OA (your first candidacy is still running); and it might help significantly if you score higher. But, of course, we're hoping you won't need this. I so hope you'll be included in the next round! God be with you!

Good luck!! I remember the waiting was so hard, but in reflection, a good learning tool - b/c you are almost always waiting - in A100, you wait to hear about post, then departure, then housing...it seems like it took us getting to post and settled that we finally weren't waiting....although next year when we have to bid again, I am sure it will all begin again!!

Ahhh me too!!! I've got a 5.7 in PD and haven't heard yet :( Crossing my fingers that I'll be in the next round!! The wait is a killer....

thanks for the kind words all..

that lady- when I passed the spanish test I decided not to take the FSOT bec at that point, my 5.57 would easily get me in.
But if I don't get the call this time, I'll probably retake in Oct and also think about a CNL. I will confess that the idea makes me want to cry, but if I want this job, I may have to work harder.

thank you Meredith, someone, Daniela, I really appreciate the good thoughts. Good luck someone!
