I went back to our West Virginia cabin this weekend, this time with both parents, plus my brothers, husband and kids. We've had this home since I was 5 years old, but my children hadn't been yet, as it was far from our home in NY. It was wonderful to be there again and to watch my kids do the same things I did as a kid with my brother.
I bought a new camera on Thursday and tested it out over the weekend. I'm really excited about my new purchase (a birthday present from my mom and pop- thank you!!)! It's a
Sony Nex-3 Interchangeable Digital Camera and they say it has the quality of a DSLR without the size. I've been debating about getting a DSLR for months because they are so bulky (I can barely hold one), but I really wanted to take quicker, better photos of my children. So far, I am very pleased with our choice. It's small enough to not be overwhelming, and the photos are very nice. Take a look!

After a chilly dip in the springs, it was time for cheeseburgers and shakes! |

Here we are back at our house, having dinner inside the net |

We also celebrated Daddy's birthday with a little cake! |
So, to recap: We enjoyed nature, played in the
springs, had a
Roman bath, went to the pool, and last but not least, went to the
CIRCUS on Saturday night! Yes, there was a one-ring circus visiting Hancock, MD, and we had front row tickets (thank you mom!). It was crazy. It was awesome. It was a little scary (I could have touched the elephants as they passed by. And I'm pretty sure my holding L a little tighter wouldn't have saved us if they had decided to rebel at that moment).
Yes, it was an awesome weekend. And I haven't even told you what we did on Memorial Day!
P.S. If you too are looking for serenity as well as fun, our cabin is on the rental market! Let me know.
