Punta Cana

I've been meaning to post this for weeks. Last month I begged my husband to take me to Punta Cana for my birthday. We went with three other families and stayed at a great resort for only $60/adult. Lodging, food and drink for 4 people for $240. I could get used to this.

This resort was bustling- the staff was constantly pulling people up out of their chairs for contests, dance lessons, and games. It was entertaining, but a little tiring. I haven't been to other PC resorts, but I'm told this is one that has a larger beach share than others- we couldn't see any other hotels from ours. The beach was beautiful and filled with palapas and chairs. I couldn't help but compare it to Las Terrenas.   I'm trying to decide which one I like better- the convenience of food and hotel room right there, or the rugged isolation and quiet. I think LT is winning out, but PC (and all-inclusives in general) definitely has its place for a family with 2 young ones.

I'm amazed at how big Punta Cana is- there are at least 40 hotels on the map.

The kids loved the towel sculptures. Ok, so did I.

The pool had lots of shallow entrances for kids and a fountain- M wanted to spend all his time here.

L is a lot more interested in the beach than her brother.

We went to a steakhouse to celebrate the 5th birthday of one of our little friends.

Your kids are so cute! And it always cracks me up when boys and girls are a "mimi-me" of their parents- yours certainly are! So glad you guys are enjoying your first post so much.

For some reason my website hasn't registered that you've updated your blog in a few months, so I'm glad to discover that you haven't actually disappeared from the blogosphere! And what a fun mini-vacation!
