About town

I've been taking photos of Santo Domingo buildings and homes for a while, planning to share them with you.  Santo Domingo has a mix of dwellings- a surprising amount of tall, luxury buildings; more modest 2-3 story buildings with little balconies brimming with greenery (these are my favorites); and very basic apartment complexes in the poorer sections. This is a random selection of photos and I know I have more, but there is no time to look if I want to get this posted!

Oh, and today is our six month anniversary at post! To be honest, seems we've been here much longer (in a good way!).

This is a view from Parque Mirador del Sur
Love that green building on the left- many of the buildings are painted a lovely color and have such personality
Here we are driving along the Malecon, the seaside road

My favorite kind of housing- I just think these complexes are so charming

We've only been here once...it's a bit pricey and we have most everything we need (but we're glad it's here!)
This is M's favorite building, of course. That's a real truck!

I've been reading you since before A-100. I can't believe you've been at post for six months now! Of course, I've been reading you since before I was in A-100 myself, and I'm almost done with my first post. It's crazy how fast time is flying by in this FS life.

I agree...it's crazy how time passes in this life (or maybe in life in general!). Maybe someday I'll know where you are! :)

Cool blog! I have some questions about going tandem and traveling with pets? Do you mind if I could ask you them in private? My email is sharnaterese@gmail.com Thank you so much!

hi Anonymous! I am not tandem and have no pets...so probably not the right person to ask. If you have other questions, though, I'm happy to help.

Tulum with tweens

I'm still here! Thought I'd write about our vacation to Tulum this past week. The kids' school is off for 'fall break,...
