Everyone who meets my 2 year old comments on her feisty personality. She is a character, that is for sure. I kind of feel sorry for her, as I know how hard it is to need everything your way (I'm afraid she got that from me). But I'm also proud that she is so spunky and doesn't let herself get pushed around. Here are some recent conversations with her:
Mama: Let's put on your jeans.
L: No.
Mama: Why not?
L. Um...first, I don't like it.
Mama: Ok, we're going upstairs now for night-night.
L: No. We not.
Mama: Why not?
L. Um...first, I play with my baby chick.
Can you detect a pattern here?
I love her little speech. There is never a second.
We packed up the family and joined the Foreign Service in 2011. Currently in: Mexico City, Mexico!

FS: You have to wait to get in here.
Bfiles: No. I want in.
FS: No. You must wait.
Bfiles: Um...first, I don't like it. (stomps feet, sorts and sells things) haha! :-)
I hate to say LOL like a teenager, but seriously, that's what I'm doing!
What a cutie.
I will tell my Jack that he has two choices, after I have told him, he tells me, number three...and then goes into what he wants to do.
Kids are just so cute sometimes. I have such a hard time not laughing.
I think it makes life more exciting.
Your daughter is adorable. My youngest is spirited too. Love strong willed and independent little girls. We are going to have our hands full in ten years for sure. LOVE her boots!
What a cutie!
Our daughter also often objects to a lot of the things we want her to do but she usually goes on to list a bunch of reasons. Usually starts with, "First of all," then "Second of all, and has been known to go all the way up to "Thirteenth of all,..." Her father and I have a hard time keeping our faces straight by that point but I figure they are developing reasoning skills and that's a good thing. Maybe they'll make good lawyers or politicians one day, ha?
thanks, guys!
Daniela & Emily, your kids sound like future lawyers for sure! I do think it's a great trait and can't help but laugh when she says it.
Sara, is it only your youngest? :)
