1st round of offers went out today and did not head my way. I haven't checked recently, but think I was ranked about 24-28 before today....

Very cute. By the way, do you have a recommendation for a quality brand/size? We're shopping for new luggage in anticipation for the 162nd and beyond.
Congrats on your offer, Diplodad! I have to laugh bec I've been researching and polling FSOs and came to the conclusion that there is really no best strategy. Which was disappointing bec I wanted a clear decision about luggage. Anyway, we went with 4 LLbean rolling duffles which are pretty affordable (and hopefully going on sale this summer) and light (Plus they will generally replace things that stop working) and then we have 3 large suitcases. We got a 29 inch and a 26 I think, by Travel pro which seems to be the type used by flight attndts, or so they say. Just get the lightest you can, you'll need the weight! good luck! I think I have another post on luggage which is one of my tags and some people weighed in.
ps we have another non-rolling duffle to total 8 checked bags for our family of 4!
Hum...Is this the way the State Department ships families these days?? Not my grandkids!
