First Harvest

Today we harvested one of our first garden veggies- radishes don't really count, since we don't really eat them; we just grow them for the speed of it (~3 weeks). It was a "really, really big!" cucumber! They both wanted to hold it.
green pep, sugar snap peas, cucumber, basil, marigolds, lettuce, spinach, cilantro, swiss chard

That's swiss chard next to him.

Of course L didn't actually EAT the cucumber...

The kiddos are so cute with the cucumber. L is like a mini you.

That garden is absolutely amazing. I have always ALWAYS wanted to plant a Square Foot Garden. I bought the first edition of the book literally seven years ago, fulling intending to plant something like this... and then found out that our Homeowner's Association forbade all types of edible-food-growing plants.

But your box looks phenomenal - picture perfect - and I can't wait to follow along with your reports of your yield. Just incredible.

thank you both! I've been very surprised at our success, given my ability to kill most house plants. :)

It's funny, Daniela, everyone says the same thing about L, so it must be true, but I can't see it!
