Lunch update

Just some thoughts about our new lunch adventures (who am I writing this for- me or you? It is fun for me; am I kidding myself that anyone out there really cares?)

I have to seriously give a shout out to our Foogo thermoses. I leave them in the fridge the night before, and take them out at 7am and add an ice cube. They sit inside all day, mostly untouched by the kids (they prefer the juice bottle), and when I pick them up at 6pm, the water is STILL COLD! Now that is impressive. PLUS, they don't leak, people. Seriously, buy one. I swear I don't work for them.

The other thing I'm enjoying is my Easy Lunch Boxes. They are spacious and really make you think about providing a balanced meal. Despite the comprehensive excel spreadsheet I made of lunch/snack ideas (am I anal or what?), I am struggling to fill them each day with diverse options. One reason might be that my kids need to expand their palates just a tad. Plus there are things baby L can't eat. But overall, I probably just need to buy more supplies. I have to send 2 snacks to school, too. It's ridiculous!

I'll have to take a pic of the kids lugging their lunchboxes to the car. They are getting a kick out of helping to pack them and seeing what's inside.

So these days I get up at 5am to make lunches and water the garden. I'm in bed by 10:30/11pm after doing Spanish class or conversation. I am tired! I'm glad the test is soon, because I can't do this for long.

How are the kiddos doing at their new day-care? Have they started to enjoy it more? Hope you're well.

what kind messages! Thank you both! We've had more family here this week- my dad, stepmom and sister, whom the kids haven't seen for 2 years. They have been acting up again- tantrums, rude manners, etc. I can only conclude that there is just too much newness going on. As great as all the visits are, I think it will help to settle into a daily routine and just calm things down a bit.

Tulum with tweens

I'm still here! Thought I'd write about our vacation to Tulum this past week. The kids' school is off for 'fall break,...
