We did crazy house stuff this weekend! My parents came to visit and helped tremendously, like they always do. My pop and husband painted our white picket fence, a task that needed to get done but would have taken forever without his help. Thank you Papa!
And my mom and I visited yard sales to check out pricing and traffic. That was so fun- I love driving around our neighborhood, seeing things I haven't seen (some of the homes in New Rochelle have the most amazing ocean views!). We came away with a few pieces of wisdom:
1) definitely price each item
2) a lot of people try to sell junk. my stuff is good stuff.
3) as long as I put up good signs, people will come. I have a lot of traffic on my street, and I've got my signs ready.
We spent the rest of the day pricing and organizing the stuff. Thank you Mama! I have a few more boxes to do, but mostly ready for next weekend! I'm excited!

It's going to be a GREAT yard sale!!! Can't wait to hear about all the $$$ you make and stuff you get rid of. And then when the call comes, as it WILL come, you'll be just that much more ready to go.

I think you are right, pricing everything is important.
Hopefully you won't need them, but I see some management, leadership, resourcefulness, and organizational essay material.
Here's what we did at one of the most successful yard sales I've ever done...
1) Price each item with stickers - for example ... the blue sticker is $1, the green sticker is $2, the red sticker is $5, etc. Have a big sign up over every table that shows what each sticker costs ... it eliminates the stress when the hoardes of people come rushing in...
2) Depending on how much stuff you have - separate each table by "type" of item. OR Separate each table by the color coded sticker... one table is $1 items, another is $2 items, etc...
3) If you're selling clothes - hang up each item - and have them all priced the same. Shirts $5, Shoes, $3 etc.
We did this for a yard sale in Israel and we made over $2000. SERIOUSLY!
